MARGARET (PEGGY) AGNES MACMILLAN (nee GRAHAM) Margaret was born in Windsor, Ontario on April 25, 1925 and passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 27, 2017 just before her 92nd birthday. She attended high school in Toronto, Ontario and graduated from the University of Manitoba with her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Education. Margaret was predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years, Bruce. She was also predeceased by her daughter Gail (Nick). She is survived by her four children and spouses: David (Cheryl), Brian (Valjean), Janice (Mark), Bill (Monique) , eleven loving grandchildren; Lauren (Dayna), Michelle (Ryan), Graeme (Katie), Brittany (Dominic), Kathryn (Dave) Meghan, Jessica, Emma, William, Christopher, Alexander and four great-grandchildren; Dylan, Logan, Claire and Jack. With the exception of Brian's family from Sun Prairie Wisconsin, all are currently living in Winnipeg. Mom left high school early and, prior to her marriage to Bruce, she worked at Pitts Construction in Toronto for a number of years. She was always passionate about learning and committed to finishing high school prior to pursuing her Education degrees at the University of Manitoba, completing the degrees in her early 50s. This was a significant achievement after being away from school for many years while raising her busy family of five. She was also an active volunteer at the Nearly New Shop for a number of years. Mom had a lifelong passion for contract bridge and was an active member in many of the bridge clubs around Winnipeg. Peggy was fortunate to have played with a number of talented partners. To achieve her goal of becoming a Life Master (300 points) she participated in a number of major tournaments in Winnipeg and Minneapolis. We were all extremely proud of her accomplishments and she continued playing contract bridge until her passing, collecting well over 1000 points - no small achievement! In addition to her scholastic accomplishments, Mom took great pride looking after her own investments. She was very committed and successful at managing her own portfolio. To increase her knowledge and better her returns, she enrolled in and passed the Canadian Securities Course at the age of 67. Mom continued reading investment books and newsletters and was always available to assist us with any investment advice we needed. Mom and Dad were avid travelers and shared many wonderful memories together. Mom was always the more adventuresome of the two, as they visited many places around the world. Mom continued her love of travelling, on her annual Caribbean Cruise. Family was extremely important to Mom. She supported us in all of our endeavors and was always there with her sage advice. She loved our family gatherings at the cottage and always insisted that anniversaries, birthdays and other family events were appropriately celebrated. In her later years she was blessed with four great-grandchildren. Nothing made her day like a visit or an outing with these special 4th generation babies. This was especially the case in their first year when she loved to cuddle each of them in her lap. In their later years Mom and Dad were able to remain in their home with the support of a number of caregivers who loved and supported them like family. Our family is extremely grateful for the care and support that they provided our parents. A private family service will be held for Margaret.
