ISAAK JOHN DOERKSEN On Saturday, November 19, 2016 Isaak John Doerksen, peacefully, with his family by his side, went to join our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Isaak was predeceased by his wife Lilliane; son John; grandson Matthew; brothers, Abraham, Jacob, Peter and sister Maria. Left to mourn are children, Dianne (Peter), Len (June), Garry (Marlene), Ken (Sharon), Beverly (Rick), Lorraine (Dave), Marie and Darlene; 19 grandchildren and 18 great- grandchildren. Isaak was born on April 10, 1922 to Johann Doerksen and Aganetha Hildebrandt in Halbstad, MB. Their other children were Abraham, Jacob, Peter, John, David, Maria, Aganetha, Elsie and Harry. At age 14 when his mother died, he left his childhood home to work on a neighbouring relative's farm. Dad enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army Service Corp. in 1940. After the war, he met the love of his life and married Lilliane (nee Laroque). They shared the next 50 years together. They settled in St. Boniface raising nine children and one grandchild. Dad was a hard worker, retiring from Building Products driving a cement mixer. After retirement, mom and dad spent many hours administering love and prayer to many people in the hospital while raising grandson Matthew. Dad spent his final days in prayer at the Deer Lodge Centre. The Doerksen family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Deer Lodge Centre who treated dad with love and care in his final days. If family and friends wish to give a donation, please send donations to the Jewish Federation. A celebration of Isaak's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 5, 2016 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Interment will follow.
