PATRICIA TODD (GREEN) Obituary pic

PATRICIA TODD (nee GREEN) April 11, 1950 - November 6, 2018 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Pat Todd. Pat was predeceased by her parents, Minnie and Stephen Green. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Bob, son David (Sheri), daughter Erin (Andrew) and son Jamie (Sarah), her grandchildren, Emma, Abby, Alex, Zoe, Maggie and Jack, and her brother Ken. She will also be greatly missed by her extended family and friends. Pat was born in Brandon, Manitoba. In her youth, she lived in many different communities across Canada with her military family. As a teenager, her family settled in Winnipeg where she established her roots and started her own family. She was a respected and admired elementary school teacher for many years in Charleswood. Former students often expressed how much she meant to them. She was also an advocate for teachers and served as President of the Assiniboine South Teacher's Association. Following her retirement from teaching, Pat enjoyed travelling with her husband Bob and many of her close friends. She was a caring and understanding person who loved her grandchildren dearly. Pat loved to knit and crochet for her grandchildren and for other family and friends. She could often be found knitting beautiful baby blankets and sweaters, sometimes without knowing who the recipient would be or when the next baby would be born. She loved to visit her children and grandchildren in Ontario and British Columbia. Pat was an informed and active community member who was guided by a strong sense of values and ethics. She possessed a sharp wit and sense of humour and was able to make her friends and family feel comfortable and at ease. A voracious reader, she was known to be intelligent and exceptionally knowledgeable - traits that made her a coveted partner in games of trivia. She enjoyed getting together with friends for dinner parties, to play cards and socialize. Above all else, Pat was a loving and supportive wife and mother. Nothing made her happier than being surrounded by her family. She was proud to have raised strong, independent and free thinking children and encouraged them to follow their own paths. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 9 at 1:30 pm at St. Gianna Beretta Molla Roman Catholic Church, 15 Columbia Dr., Fr. Darrin J.G. Gurr, presiding. Entombment will follow in Living Waters Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Pat's name to CancerCare Manitoba. Her family wants to thank all of the kind doctors and nurses and staff at CancerCare, WRHA Palliative Care, especially Lana, and the staff of Riverview Health Centre.
